QotD: The Bible

I have all sorts of books, and from time to time they are used for a purpose other than a book. Example: coaster, door prop, paperweight... My wife is truly embarrassed by the way I use books occasionally in my home office.

So here's the question: Should the Bible be treated differently than other books, and never be used for such purposes?

Today's question:

What company sent you the most junk postal mail this year? Don't include catalogs - just mail that came in an envelope.

QotD: Whose Sex Education Manual Would You Want To Read?

A little offbeat today:

If you could have picked any author in history to write a sex education manual for sheer entertainment value, what author would you pick?

Somewhat inspired by this post.

QotD: New Year's Eve

We traditionally have 4-5 families together on New Year's Eve - adults and kids - to end the old year. I'm looking for activity suggestions for the evening.

What are some of the more fun things you've done at New Year's Parties that can be done in a PG-13 setting?

QotD: How cheap are you with your Christmas Cards?

I just bought two packs of 15 at the Dollar Store, a buck apiece. To send to clients. They look fine. Is that tacky or what?

Calling All Maine Lovers

14 years ago my wife and I moved from California to the East Coast, or the Mid-Atlantic, or whatever we want to call this region. When we moved, it was with the understanding that it was an adventure, that we may move back to California after a couple of years, and that we should see as much as we could. Both of us sat down and put together a list of 10 places we wanted to see in the Eastern United States that would be more than a day trip.

14 years and two kids later, one place remains, and it is our goal to visit that place next summer for vacation.

Maine.

Acadia National Park is a definite. But I'd like some recommendations of other "must-sees and must-dos" in Maine. I'm starting to build a plan for next year now, and suggestions would be most welcome.

So... tell me what you love in Maine. What do you suggest we see?
